Michael McLaughlin is a 4 Star recruit who plays Offensive Tackle at Majory Stoneman Douglas High School. McLaughlin is ranked as a Top 25 Offensive Tackle in the nation and is the #31 best recruit in the state of Florida. In addition, McLaughlin is listed as the #2 Offensive Tackle in the state of Florida. Michael McLaughlin is committed to play at Miami next fall.
Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?
Growing up, my favorite NFL player was Peyton Manning since I grew up as a Colts fan.
What high school is your biggest rival?
Coral Springs is our schools biggest rival, every year when we play the losing schools principle has to kiss a pig.
What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I don’t have any specific songs, but I like to listen to classic rock before a game.
What is your offseason training like?
During the summer I lifted 4-5 days per week and then had position training 2-3 times per week.
What is your favorite memory of your high school career?
Week 3 of last season was my favorite memory of my high school career, I personally think it is the game where I really figured out how to be aggressive on the offensive line.
What parts of your high school game, do you hope to transition to the college level?
I’m looking forward to improving my technique and knowledge of the position at the next level.
What made Miami stand out from other schools?
Miami stood out from other schools for a variety of reasons, it’s a school with great academics and an amazing football program.
What do you want to accomplish on and off the field during your time at Miami?
I think the main priority at Miami is getting back on the map with a national championship. With the talent Miami is starting to bring back in there should be no reason we can’t make it.
