One Of The Top Tight Ends In Texas: Ben Postma
Ben Postma is a 3 Star recruit who plays Tight End at Cy Ranch High School. Postma is ranked as a Top 60 Tight End in the nation and is a Top 10 Tight End in the state of Texas as well. Ben Postma is committed to play at Georgia Tech next fall.
Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?
I would have to say George Kittle is a guy who has inspired me the most even just with his recent success, he’s a dawg.
What high school is your biggest rival?
There are a bunch of high schools in our district that my school has history with so there’s not really a genuine rival.
What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
It varies time to time, some days I’m feeling rap and hip hop music, if I get to hyped up I cool myself down with some slow music like country or jazz.
What is your offseason training like?
Workouts twice a day over quarantine and summer whether it be football and weightlifting or football and conditioning
What is your favorite memory of your high school career?
I would have to say the brotherhood that you build with your teammates and the fun you get to have by being a part of the football team
What parts of your high school game, do you hope to transition to the college level?
I hope to see my drive and work ethic for the game continue on in college.
What made Georgia Tech stand out from other schools?
The new coaching staff coming in are very genuine and also are looking to rebuild Georgia tech to the great program it was and I want to be a part of that.
What do you want to accomplish on and off the field during your time at Georgia Tech?
I want to build relationships with good people at GT also while being successful in the classroom as a student and on the field as an athlete.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
It would probably have to be Kobe Bryant, I was once a basketball kid and when I played I was tried to replicate everything from his game and add it to mine. Rest In Peace to Kobe.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
I would have to say probably my most favorite moment as a sports fan was either seeing auburn returning the game winning field against Alabama to beat them a couple years ago or Lebron winning his 3rd championship for Cleveland. I’ve never been more hyped up in my life from a sports moment like those two.
