Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?
Growing up I looked up immensely to JJ Watt. He’s just an absolute freak of nature and I love the way he plays the game. Obviously I also love that he came from Wisconsin, but the way he works inspires me to be a better player.
What high school is your biggest rival?
Our biggest rivals would have to be Baldwin just for the fact that they are about 5 miles away. Those games show the absolute best out of both teams and it’s always fun to beat up on them.
What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I like to listen to a vast variety of different styles and types of music, it just kinda depends how I’m feeling before that game. However my go to always is “Man of the Year” by Logic.
What is your offseason training like?
Offseason training is one of the funnest times of the year because it’s just straight grinding with your buddies. With COVID it’s been a little different where we made a shed crew which is basically just a bunch of guys that we had come together in a shed and just worked out extremely hard.
What is your favorite memory of your high school career?
My favorite memory so far would be slamming the Northwestern running back my freshman year before half time. It was just a huge tone setter for our game and it helped us a lot in winning that game and moving to state.
What parts of your high school game do you hope you can transition to the college level?
I would say just an overall love for the game. I say that because I see a lot of guys go into college and get burnt out and don’t want to play anymore.
What do you look for in choosing a college?
I look for culture mostly, for instance is there a winning culture at this school where they say look we expect to get to here and we’re gonna make that happen, or is there a culture where it’s like yeah we didn’t do so well but that’s because we played good teams.
When did you start looking at colleges, and when did colleges start looking at you?
I guess I didn’t really start looking for colleges I just always went to the camps and usually lied about my age to say I’m older just to get into them. I got first noticed by Iowa my freshman year.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet one sports hero it’d probably be JJ watt or like Jordan because we’re big on basketball as well.
