In addition, Slaughter is listed as the #3 Center in the state of Florida. Jake Slaughter is committed to play at Florida next fall.
Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?
I always loved watching Lane Johnson film
What high school is your biggest rival?
The Villages high School
What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I go from some country music: Tyler Childers, Cody Jinks, and lately Pecos and the Rooftops and work my way up to some heavier metal like some Slipknot and Five Finger Death Punch.
What is your offseason training like?
Offseason I like to get about 2 hours a day in of lifting and conditioning and then about an hour of position technique work.
What is your favorite memory of your high school career?
Beating Trinity Christian in the first round of the playoffs last year.
What parts of your high school game, do you hope to transition to the college level?
I just want to be a guy who can go in and contribute. Good feet and finishing blocks
What made Florida stand out from other schools?
I grew up right down the road from Gainesville and it’s a great program with great coaching.
What do you want to accomplish on and off the field during your time at Florida?
I plan on trying to get my Bachelors degree in law and be a multiple year starter.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I’d love to meet someone like Peyton Manning and just talk football and building a winning culture.
