Welman Crooms is a 2026 recruit who plays Wide Receiver at Matawan Regional High School. Crooms Jr is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2026 and is ranked among one of the top Wide Receivers in the class as well. In addition, Crooms Jr is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of New Jersey and is listed among one of the top Wide Receivers in the state of New Jersey. He currently holds offers from Pitt and Boston College.
Who are some role models in your life?
My role models in my life are my family members. My uncle was a first team all pro, my cousin is currently in the league, and my brother went D1. I look up to them all.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
Pregame, I usually listen to Meek Mill or NBA YoungBoy. If I want to chill, I’ll listen to a little bit of MB.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory is probably winning the divisional championship with my team.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
This past season my team scrimmaged Toms River North who’s QB, Micah Ford was the NJ Gatorade Player of the Year. He’s probably the best player I’ll see in high school football.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Work hard even when no one is watching. Put in extra, it’s going to pay off eventually.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If i could travel anywhere it would probably be somewhere like France. I’ve read a lot about it.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I fell in love with the game when I was extremely young, considering I was always surrounded by it. I’ve loved football since I was as young as 4 years old.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet any sports hero, it would probably be Coach Prime. Not saying for recruitment or anything. I just like the swag he brought to the game of football.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
As a fan, my favorite sports moment was definitely the Minnesota Miracle, when Stefon Diggs scored the crazy game winning touchdown.
