One Of Georgia Stateś Top Recruits Of 2020: Kaleb Scott
Kaleb Scott was born in, Holly Springs, North Carolina and played Small Forward at Holly Springs High School. Scott is ranked as a Top 20 recruit in the state of North Carolina and is also listed as a Top 10 Small Forward in the state as well. Kaleb Scott is committed to play at Georgia State this fall.
Growing up, were you inspired by any NBA Players?
Derrick Rose. I would say he was my #1 basketball inspiration since I was a kid. Wanted to be just like him growing up.
What high school is your biggest rival?
FVHS was our cross town rival back in high school. Games versus them would always be packed.
What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
Anything J Cole or Drake. Only two artists in our generation that can be considered all time greats in my opinion.
What is your offseason training like?
In the gym as much as possible. Always a part of my game that I can improve.
What is your favorite memory of your high school career?
Junior year senior night versus Apex Friendship High. Most fun game I have ever played in. Gym was sold out.
What parts of your high school, do you hope to transition to the college level?
All parts and then some. Mostly finishing around the rim and being able to guard multiple positions.
What made Georgia State stand out from other schools?
Coaching staff, location, previous success, and a school that is really pushing to change its program and culture. New football arena has been built and basketball arena is under construction. Everybody who is a part of the university wants to elevate it to the next level.
What do you want to accomplish on and off the court during your time at Georgia State?
Winning multiple conference championships and making runs to the NCAA Tourney. Everyone wants to make it to the big dance. Individual accolades do not necessarily concern me.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Derrick Rose or Lebron James. My two biggest basketball inspirations growing up.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
Stephś 40 foot game winner against OKC or Dameś step back on Paul George in the playoffs this past year.
