Nottingham’s Star Outside Linebacker: Desmond Kauffman

Desmond Kauffman is a 2023 recruit who plays Outside Linebacker at Nottingham High School. Kauffman is ranked among one of the top recruits in the nation and is ranked among one of the top Outside Linebackers in the nation as well. In addition, Kauffman is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of New Jersey and is listed among one of the top Outside Linebackers in the state of New Jersey. He currently hods an offer from Alvernia.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

Growing up, I was most definitely inspired by Troy Polamalu. He was a big time hitter.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I usually listen to hype songs like Dreams and Nightmares by Meek Mill.

What is your offseason training like?

My offseason training is lifting, conditioning, and foot work drills.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory would have to be my sophomore year against Trenton High. We went down like 2 touchdowns then my coach put me into the game and I balled out. I had 8 tackles, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble. It was a crazy game for me and I was named player of the game. We ended up winning 28-14.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I’ve ever played with was my former teammate Jed Henry, a D1 Linebacker at Georgetown. I would always try to out do him in the games when they put me in.

How old were you when you started playing football?

I was 5

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food would have to be wings for sure.

When did you realize you were talented at football?

I knew I was talented my 8th grade year when I over heard one of the other coaches we were playing against asking my coach “who is that kid, he something else” after I made a play.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

If I could meet one sports hero, it would for sure be Troy Polamalu.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

Watching the Rams win the Super Bowl
