North Crowley’s Star Sophomore Safety: Elijajuan Houston

Elijajuan Houston is a 3 Star recruit who plays Safety at North Crowley High School. Houston is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2027 and is ranked among one of the top Safeties in the class as well. In addition, Houston is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Texas and is listed among one of the top Safeties in the state of Texas. He holds offers from schools such as Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Ole Miss.

Who are some role models in your life?
My mom, dad, and coach. They’ve always been there to guide me in the right direction, and I look up to them every day.

What artists do you listen to pregame to get hyped up?
I listen to a lot of music, but NBA YoungBoy is always in the mix before a game.

What are the strengths of your game?
My versatility. I can play over the top, cover sideline to sideline, come down in the box to make big tackles, and lock down the slot receiver. I pride myself on being able to do it all.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
Winning the state championship. Being part of that team and that moment is something I’ll never forget.

What advice would you give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Stay on track, never give up on yourself, and always believe in your abilities—no matter the circumstances.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Peru or Dubai. Both places are beautiful and full of amazing things to experience.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
Since I was a little kid. Football has always been in me—it’s something I was born to love.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Deion Sanders. He’s a legend. Not many people have done what he’s done, and his confidence and game speak for themselves.

What is your favorite sports moment as a fan?
Just being in the stands, hearing the crowd roar, and watching the energy on the field. One day, I know I’ll be the one they’re cheering for.
