Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?
Growing up, I looked up to people like Tony Romo, Tom Brady, and Josh Allen. I looked up to Tony Romo because he did the unbelievable. His ability to run in and out of the pocket and just be able to make the play somehow, always amazed me. I also look up to someone like Tom Brady because he can bring the whole team up with just a couple of words. His way to lead his team to victory no matter what is amazing. People like to say I play a lot like Josh Allen, his way to move and make a play.
What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I like to listen to some J Cole and Kanye, songs like No Role Modelz, All Falls Down, and Middle Child. Those are always my top 3 go to songs before a football game.
What is your offseason training like?
My offseason training consists of me waking up everyday. Watching old film of my performance or old games we (my football team) played in and trying to practice what I did in that game wrong to try to become 1% better everyday. I also lift everyday for about an hour. Then after lifting I go outside and work on my footwork and learn to throw with different arm angles, so it can help me perform on the field.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory has to be against Miami Edison, we were said to be the underdogs. They had Miami Edison favored by 21 or more points on us. So we went that whole week before that game being known as the underdogs and honestly that fueled our team to perform better than we had ever performed. We went out there and beat them by 21. All week our coach would tell us,” Miami Edison does it better”, and that fueled us to go out there and win.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I have ever played with would be my center Preston. He’s not a big time known guy but when I was in trouble scrambling in and out of the pocket he was there to protect me. No matter if I was on the complete opposite side of the field, he would run as fast as he could and block the guy trying to tackle me. He always did his job no matter what.
What was your reaction to getting your first offer?
When I got my first offer I was in shock, my jaw dropped on the floor, I was so surprised. The first thing I did was call my QB coach and tell him the big news, then my head coach, then my Dad. They were all proud and excited for me.
What is your favorite food?
My favorite food has to be tacos. They’re just so delicious.
When did you realize you were talented at football?
I never saw myself being a talented football player. I just started playing young and when I saw I could do things other kids couldn’t it motivated me to just get better at it. After watching football from a QB perspective I found out I could throw the ball far, short, fast, slow, it didn’t matter I could do whatever I wanted. Once I hit 11, in my head I was like,” maybe football is for me.” So I practice all the time. I called other receivers from other schools and invited them to practice with me.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I would love to meet Tom Brady one day. He’s been one of my biggest idols ever since I was a little kid. It would be a blessing to meet him one day and who knows maybe someday in the future play beside him, since he never wants to retire.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
One of my favorite sports moments as a fan would have to be Texas A&M beating Alabama last year. That moment really shocked the world. The whole game was so hype and it really got people jumping in the air screaming as loud as they could.
