Merritt Island’s Star Safety: Elijah Floyd

Elijah Floyd is a 3 Star recruit who plays Safety at Merritt Island High School. Floyd is ranked among one of the top recruits in the nation and is ranked among one of the top Safeties in the nation as well. In addition, Floyd is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Florida and is listed as a top 25 Safety in the state of Florida. He holds offers from schools such as Penn State, Iowa State and Pitt.

What artists do you listen to pregame to get you hyped up?
I like to listen to Kodak or Rod Wave before a game.

What are the strengths of your game?
My strengths are that I can play well at any position a coach puts me at.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory is my first-ever varsity experience vs. Duncaville during my freshman year.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I ever played against was Brysen Wright.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Some advice I’d give an upcoming or aspiring Division I athlete is to always grind because your time will come soon.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was 4 years old when I fell in love with football.

If I could meet one sports hero, it would be Jalen Ramsey.
