Mater Dei’s Next Star Quarterback: Furian Inferrera
Furian Inferrera is a 2027 recruit who plays Quarterback at Mater Dei High School. Inferrera is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2027 and is ranked among one of the top Quarterbacks in the class as well. In addition, Inferrera is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of California and is listed among one of the top Quarterbacks in the state of California. He holds offers from schools such as Pitt, Nebraska and Hawaii.
Who are some role models in your life?
My father is one of my main role models in my life. He is a very hard working man that is always there for my family. He makes sure each member of my family is taken care of and provided for.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
For me, I like to listen to Drake before some of my games. I prefer going into games with a more relaxed and calm mental state, which is the reason I listen to some of Drake’s music.
What are the strengths of your game?
Some strengths that I have include the ability to analyze a defense in a short amount of time, great arm talent, and I pride myself on being a leader to not only lead my team but also elevate their game.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory of my career is from this past year when I played for the OG Ducks in Corona, California. I remember traveling with my friends to go to practice and to compete against national competition every week. It was an amazing experience that is one of my favorite memories.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
One of the best players I’ve played both against and with in my career is Lex Mailangi. When I used to play him, he was a huge threat, but this past year with him joining me on the OG Ducks, he was one of my best lineman. He will also be joining me at Mater Dei High School.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Some advice I’d give to an aspiring D1 athlete is to just keep grinding day in and day out. Whatever you put in you will always get out. Also, focus on your dream and your progress, never compare it to someone else.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could travel anywhere in the world, it would be to Seoul, Korea. Being half-Korean, I’d love the opportunity to be able to learn more about my culture, while also having the opportunity to visit family and to explore the country of South Korea.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
The love for the game started when I was a toddler, where I’d run around the house with a football in my hands. As soon as I started playing football, around 6 years old, I loved it and continued playing every year.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I’ve already met him, but if I were to choose a sports hero to talk with, it’d be Bryce Young. With him being from the OG Ducks and continuing the bulk of his high school career at Mater Dei, I’d love to sit down and talk with him about his experiences and some of the lessons he’s learned along the way.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
One of my favorite sports moments was when Tom Brady led the Patriots to a comeback in the Super Bowl with a 28-3 deficit.
