Marist’s Star Freshman Tackle: Rico Schrieber

Rico Schrieber is a 2026 recruit who plays Offensive Tackle at Marist High School. Schrieber is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2026 and is ranked among one of the top Offensive Tackles in the class as well. In addition, Schrieber is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Illinois and is listed among one of the top Offensive Tackles in the state of Illinois.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

Growing up I was inspired by Rob Gronkowski.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne really pumps me up before games.

What is your offseason training like?

I train twice a week with Nate Oquendo From OL MAFIA at eft Chicago, I also train with Ryan Healy, two great offensive line trainers. I lift weights 4 times a week with two brothers from B.A.I. Chicago.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory of my career was being named 1 of 14 offensive lineman on the Top Gun all camp team at FBU Top Gun in Naples, Florida.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I have ever played against was Jake Kreul from Florida.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is surf and turf.

When did you realize you were talented at football?

I knew I was talented at football when the top high schools in Illinois started strongly recruiting me.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

One sports hero I would like to meet would be Andrew Whitworth, I think he’s great on and off the field.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite sports moment was watching my favorite NFL team, the Rams win the Super Bowl.
