Lakota East’s Star Quarterback: JT Kitna

JT Kitna is a 3 Star recruit who plays Quarterback at Lakota East High School. Kitna is ranked among one of the top recruits in the nation and is ranked as a top 75 Quarterback in the nation as well. In addition, Kitna is listed as a top 50 recruit in the state of Ohio and is listed as a top 10 Quarterback in the state of Ohio. He holds offers from schools such as Indiana, Houston and Liberty.

Who are some role models in your life?

My dad and my brothers are huge role models for me. From how they walk with Jesus to them teaching me football to my dad and oldest brother being husbands and my dad being a father I’ve always looked up to all of them.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Pregame it all depends on how I am feeling. Most games it’s worship music like Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond to calm me down. If I’m getting hyped up it’s Drake and Lil Baby.

What are the strengths of your game?

One of my biggest strengths is my knowledge of the game.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory of my career is the last game of sophomore year.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

Some notable people I have played against are Reggie Powers and Jamel Johnson.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

It’s the top of the top, it doesn’t happen by accident. Give yourself every chance to get there.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I would go to Bora Bora or Hawaii.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I have always loved the game and knew this is what I wanted to do as long as I can remember.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I’d like to meet Aaron Rodgers and do a workout with him.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

Being in the stands at the 2023 Michigan Ohio State game. My brother in law is Ladarius Henderson, he plays left tackle at Michigan. After that win it was just great to see knowing his journey to get there and everything he’s been through.
