Lake Creek’s Star Freshman Quarterback: JD Linnstaedter

JD Linnstaedter is a 2026 recruit who plays Quarterback at Lake Creek High School. Linnstaedter is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2026 and is ranked among one of the top Quarterbacks in the class as well. In addition, Linnstaedter is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Texas and is listed among one of the top Quarterbacks in the state of Texas.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

I didn’t really get into football until about 2-3 years ago but Joe Burrow is someone that I really look up to basically walking in to LSU after the situation at Ohio St and leading their team to a undefeated National Championship when all the cards were against him, then doing a similar thing at the Bengals leading them to the Super Bowl.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I listen to today’s rap and 90’s rap to get pumped up, but anything with a good beat and bass is good. The Migos were one of my favorites for a while, but it changes a lot.

What is your offseason training like?

From 8:00 to 10:00 I have school workouts, 10:30 to 12:30 I have basketball, and from 6:00 to 7:30 I throw with my receivers, just working on the little things. I also train with QB coach Sean Salisbury when we get a chance.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

When we beat our cross-town rivals at the end of my 8th season after going undefeated and winning district both 7th and 8th grade as the starting quarterback. I was very happy with our accomplishments and I was proud of my teammates and coaches.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

I haven’t played with or against anybody nationally recognized but when I went to the Elite 11 Academy in Atlanta, I had the opportunity to compete with some great QB’s including Julian Lewis, Logan Rogers, and Mason Holtzclaw.

What is your favorite food?

It’s too hard to decide my favorite, but my top 3 are pizza, steak, and tacos.

When did you realize you were talented at football?

I started playing football in 7th grade and I realized I was talented when I realized how fast I was progressing. My QB coach Sean Salisbury had a big impact on that and I’m very thankful for all he has done for me so far in my career.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would have to pick Brett Favre just because I got to read his biography and i have a lot of respect for how he made it to the top from being offered to be 3rd string linebacker at southern miss to being a star NFL QB.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

I’ve been a huge A&M fan my whole life because my grandpa played quarterback there in the 60’s. I got to go to the A&M vs Alabama game last year and got to storm the field. That was such a cool experience and probably one of the best moments of my life.
