Who are some role models in your life?
Some role models in my life would include my dad and my mom. They both push me to try my absolute best in every aspect of my life wether it be with school and football or even the smallest things like cutting the grass. They show and tell me everyday that I can do anything if I put my mind to it. I aspire to have their attitude when I grow up.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I’m a really big fan of Yeat and the underground artists like Destroy Lonely, Carti, and Ken Carson. They get me in the zone as it’s more trap music and very heavy on the bass.
What are the strengths of your game?
I would say some strengths of my kicking game would be my power, weight transfer, and my swing path on my kicks.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory so far in my career would be in a preseason game near the start of district games. It was one of our first games so the stands were packed. The year before we didn’t attempt any really long field goals but this game we did. It was a 47 yarder, right hash, and was with a new holder I had just started working with weeks before. I made it. The stands were hyped and everyone was cheering. This moment gave me the confidence needed to show myself that I could make these kicks in game and it showed the coach’s that they can trust me when it came to long kicks.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I ever played with was Preston Hall. He isn’t that well known, but to me and my teammates he is. He was one of the best players when it came down to attitude and work ethic I always aspired to be like him in the classroom and on the field. He was getting recruited to go D1 but got his season cut sort due to covid and wasn’t able to show coaches his talents.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Some advice I would give to an aspiring D1 athlete would be to always be respectful to others and especially coaches. Another thing is you need to be working not only on the field and weight room but also in the classroom. Don’t treat it as something behind football. Remember you are a STUDENT before you are an ATHLETE. Lastly don’t give up on your dreams. A coach and great teacher once told me “Tough times don’t last but tough people do.”
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Germany, I lived there for three years. It was such a diverse place with so many different and interesting people. Also some great football in Germany. The food is also so flavorful with a variety of dishes.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
It was the summer going into my 8th grade year and I was going to kick just for fun with my family and a friend. When I met my private coach which I work with now. He watched me kick a couple of balls and said I had talent. I have been working with hime for 5 years now. I was hated on in 8th grade because I just wanted to be a kicker as usually you play more sports. This fueled me to push my self to the absolute best and the work payed off, and I fell In love with football.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Mike Tyson. His mentality and work ethic was from a different planet. I would love to just sit down and talk to him about how he functions as an athlete.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
I would say my favorite sports moment as a fan would be the 2018 World Cup game between Germany and Sweden. It was the last minutes of the game and it was a free kick and Toni Kroos from Germany took on a very sharp angle. Top right, side netting that won the game for them.
