Cael Thigpen is a 3 Star recruit who plays Defensive End at Jersey Village High School. Thigpen is ranked among one of the top recruits in the nation and is ranked among one of the top Defensive Ends in the nation as well. In addition, Thigpen is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Texas and is listed as a top 10 Defensive End in the state of Texas. He is committed to play at Houston.
Who are some role models in your life?
My role models are my parents. The work they have put in and the sacrifices they have made motivate me to be better each and every day.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
Usually, I listen to YoungBoy before a game, but I also like to keep a quiet space and stay in my thoughts.
What are the strengths of your game?
The strengths of my game are my ability to dissect plays and handle pass rushers from opposing players.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory is starting varsity during my sophomore year.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I’ve played with would be my twin brother, Calvin Thigpen. His drive and intensity allow him to dominate defenses.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Some advice I’d give to people trying to go D1 is to work every day and want it more than you can breathe. Praying over your situation is one of the best things any player can do.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’d like to travel to the Caribbean islands to relax with my family.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was 15 years old, during my freshman year, when I fell in love with the game.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I’d want to meet Reggie White because he was such a dominant force who could completely dismantle offensive schemes.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment as a fan was when my family friend Tracen Wallace let me experience what a Division I college atmosphere was like.
