Iona Prep’s Star Kicker: Sam Bisesi

Sam Bisesi is a 2024 recruit who plays Kicker at Iona Prep. Bisesi is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2024 and is ranked among one of the top Kickers in the class as well. In addition, Bisesi is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of New York and is listed among one of the top Kickers in the state of New York.

Who are some role models in your life?

A role model in my life would definitely be my grandpa. He is always there for me and shows so much support and love. I always want to make him happy.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I enjoy listening to Drake and Lil Baby before the game. I am very superstitious and listen to their music before every game.

What are the strengths of your game?

One of the biggest strengths of my game is my work ethic.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory would definitely be making my first ever field goal in 7th grade from 35 yards. I was so happy and loved kicking since.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I have trained with would definitely be NFL punter Andy Lee. I learned a lot of punting techniques from him.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

Advice I would give to an aspiring D1 athlete would be to be 100% bought in to whatever sport or position you are playing. If you put the hard work and time in, the results will be worth it.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

If I could travel anywhere in the world it would be to Australia.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I was in 5th grade when I fell in love with the game. I started kicking seriously in 8th grade with my coaches Dan Orner and Brendan Cahill.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

If I could meet one sports hero it would definitely be Justin Tucker. I look up to him and he has a ton of kicking wisdom.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite sports moment as a fan was going to my first ever NFL game with my Dad. I loved every minute of it and it was such a special day.
