Who are some role models in your life?
Some role models in my life are definitely my mom and my older sister, I’ve always been close with them. My older sister is 15 years older than me so growing up she always gave me a lot of advice and helped me navigate a lot of things I struggled with just because she was so much older and had already been through it.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
Artists I listen to pregame are mainly Lil Baby and Drake. Lil Baby gets me super hype and locked in and I’ve always been a Drake fan, so him too.
What are the strengths of your game?
I think some of the biggest strengths of my game are how much of a competitor I am, my ability to defend and rebound, and using my size to my advantage on other guards who are smaller than me. I think those 3 things really shape my game and my playing style.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My all time favorite memory of my career has to be winning Nike Nationals with my team this past summer in Chicago. We lost the previous year in the championship so there was really nothing better than being able to get back to the same stage and actually win.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
Some of the best players I’ve played with are Aaliyah Moore and Kyndall Hunter who both play at Texas right now. Another great player I got to play with is Justice Carlton, one of the best scorers I’ve played with and an all around great teammate.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Some advice I would give to an aspiring D1 athlete is honestly just don’t ever doubt yourself and trust yourself on the floor, play with confidence. As soon as you realize basketball is 50% mental and 50% physical and you start training the physical side of your mind is when your game is going to reach a new level you didn’t think it could reach.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could travel anywhere in the world it’d be Greece. The scenery in Greece looks amazing, I’d love to try the food and get to visit the beautiful beaches and explore the towns. The sunsets are probably sick there too.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was 6 years old when I started playing basketball and I instantly loved it. That was my third sport at the time, as I was playing soccer, tennis, and then basketball. Eventually my love for basketball outweighed the others and I gave both up to continue to focus on basketball.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet one sports hero it would be Wilt Chamberlain. I would want to get the chance to shake the hand of the man who scored the most points in a game. I think that would be cool.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment as a fan was probably watching the Christmas Day game in 2016, the Cavs vs the Warriors. It was the best Christmas Day game and watching that game as a Cavs fan was insane, hopefully LeBron and Kyrie get to team up again.
