Jake Walter is a 2024 recruit who plays Kicker at Hilliard Bradley High School. Walter is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2024 and is ranked among one of the top Kickers in the class as well. In addition, Walter is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Ohio and is listed among one of the top Kickers in the state of Ohio.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
Literally just “Phonk” music. Nothing better than that.
What are the strengths of your game?
Definitely my work ethic. I workout and do speed training once in the morning, run again at track, and lift again. On the daily.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
Playing in the 2022 game against Darby. I had 4/5 touchbacks with my only kickoff not going for a touchback was cross field right and I made the tackle. I made field goals from 42 and 29 and a PAT. We won by 6.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Work as hard as you can as often as you can. Make sure you’re doing everything correctly. Practice doesn’t always make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Anywhere on a cruise ship
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
When I fell in love with football I was 7. I started kicking when I was 9. I fell in love with kicking when I was 12.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Joe Burrow. He’s cocky and confident, but can back up everything he does and says. I absolutely love it.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
Dean Ambrose winning the WWE championship at money in the bank, the Cavs winning the 2016 Finals, the 2022 AFC Championship, and the Cubs winning the 2016 World Series.
