McHale Blade is a 4 Star recruit who plays Defensive End at Hillcrest High School. Blade is ranked as the 147th best recruit in the class of 2026 and is ranked as a top 15 Defensive End in the class as well. In addition, Blade is listed as the #4 recruit in the state of Illinois and is listed as the #1 Defensive End in the state of Illinois. He holds offers from schools such as Notre Dame, Michigan and USC.

My father and older brother.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
G Herbo, BossMan Dlow and Chief Keef are just some rappers that l’ve been listening to lately, but when it’s time for me to really lock in I like to listen to Lil Baby.
What are the strengths of your game?
My strength, long arms and high motor are all tools l use to help me disrupt the passer.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My first sack on varsity.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
Playing against Andre Lovett was pretty fun.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Faith in God is key. You also need the discipline to work hard every single day.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I love Hawaii.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I never actually enjoyed football growing up, but it runs in the family so they made me try it. I started around the age of 12 or 13 and l’ve been in love ever since.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I would definitely meet Myles Garrett. He is who I inspire to be like and I study and model my game after him.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
LeBron and the Cavaliers 3-1 comeback is probably my favorite of all time.
