Hawthorne’s Star Linebacker: Jailen Ruth
Jailen Ruth is a 3 Star recruit who plays Linebacker at Hawthorne High School. Ruth is ranked among the top 1100 recruits in the nation and is ranked among the top 90 Linebackers in the nation as well. In addition, Ruth is listed among the top 175 recruits in the state of Florida and is listed as a top 20 Linebacker in the state of Florida. Jailen Ruth is committed to play at Washington State next fall.
Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?
Once I actually started watching guys in my position I wanted to be like Chase Young and Isaiah Simmons.
What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I love to listen to Rod Wave, he gets me thinking about a lot of things that I can use to help me during the game.
What is your offseason training like?
I workout from 9-12 Monday-Thursday consisting of weight room and field workouts, and most weekends me and some guys play 7v7.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory is the first time we made it to the state championship, during my sophomore season.
What was your reaction to getting your first offer?
My first reaction was just happy and surprising, I always loved football, but getting a chance to play football at the next level was just a great moment to hear.
What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is any type of pasta and lobster.
When did you realize you were talented at football?
I always knew I had talent ever since I started playing football in my younger days. I knew I had what it took mid way through my sophomore season when I kept hanging crazy stat numbers.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet anyone it would be the Bosa brothers.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment as a fan was when the Miami Hurricanes had their big winning season of 2017.
