Forrest Lamp: One Of The Most Underrated Offensive Guards In The NFL
Forrest Lamp was born in Venice, Florida. Lamp played college football at Western Kentucky. Lamp played at Western Kentucky from 2012-2016. He was then chosen in the 2nd round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers with the 38th overall pick. Since then, Lamp has started 18 games for the Chargers in his first 3 NFL seasons, including starting 16 games this past season.
Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?
Of course I was inspired by players but I was also just inspired by football in general.
What team is your biggest rival?
The Chargers biggest rival is probably KC at the moment!
What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I like rap! I enjoy future, Kevin gates, and some older rap.
What is your offseason training like?
I take a little time off as soon as season ends and then I go into full workout mode. Workout 5 days a week run/agility 3 days.
What is your favorite memory of your career, so far?
Favorite memory to me would be winning my conference championship in 2015 at WKU. And of course all the bowl games.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
A few good players I’ve gone against would be Chris Jones, Grady Jarrett, Quinnen Williams, and Shelby Harris.
What is your favorite food?
Burgers and wings
When did you realize you were talented at football?
Sophomore year high school my coaches sat me down and told me I could play at the college level if I gained some weight. So I knew then if I took it serious I could at least get a degree and keep playing the game I loved.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I always grew up a Shaq fan! So either Shaq or Jordan.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
Man that’s a hard one. For me it’s simply watching WKU win. Now that I’m an alumni I want nothing more than for my school to be successful.
