Crean Lutheran’s Star Sophomore Linebacker: Carter Jones

Carter Jones is a 3 Star recruit who plays Linebacker at Crean Lutheran High School. Jones is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2025 and is ranked among one of the top Linebackers in the class as well. In addition, Jones is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of California and is listed among one of the top Linebackers in the state of California. He holds offers from schools such as Georgia, Michigan, and LSU.

Who are some role models in your life?

My biggest role models that I have today in my life are both my parents and grandparents because they help me and inspire me to do better everyday.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Personally I like to listen to Lil Baby, NBA YoungBoy, and Gunna.

What are the strengths of your game?

I think the strengths of my game right now are that l’m a leader and a physical player that loves to hit. I also have very good field vision which helps me get to the ball fast.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

So far my favorite memory was breaking a single game tackle record being 21 tackles in a game and a back to back game total CIF tackle record which was 38 in two playoff games, while also playing offense in both of those games.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

I think so far the best player I have played with is my teammate Ty “Buck” Benefeild who’s a best friend of mine and is a wide receiver/free safety committed and signed to Boise State. Another great player I get to play with is another one of my best friends named Tyler Parker, class of 2025. Both are unbelievable players and kids.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

Some advice I would give to any kid trying to get recruited or go D1, would be to focus on time management. This is because when it comes to your sport and school you need to focus on both in order to create the most opportunities that you can for yourself.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

If I could be anywhere in the world at the moment I think it would be Greece with my family and a friend. I love to spend lots of time with the people I truly value in my life.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I was around 4 years old when my Dad, Steve Jones Jr and my Grandpa, Steve Jones Sr introduced me to football. Ever since then I have loved the game and the life lessons that it gives you.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I feel like if I were to meet a sports hero in the world I would like to meet Ray Lewis or Shannon Sharpe. They both play the positions that I play and dominated the game for a long time while playing.
