Clear Lake’s Star Kicker: Walter Kilgore

Walter Kilgore is a 2024 recruit who plays Kicker at Clear Lake High School. Kilgore is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2024 and is ranked as a top 35 Kicker in the class as well. In addition, Kilgore is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Texas and is listed as a top 10 Kicker in the state of Texas.

Who are some role models in your life?

Both of my parents serve as role models to me, they inspire me to work harder everyday.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I like Polo G and lil TJay, but I could also go for some country too.

What are the strengths of your game?

I like to think of myself as someone who is consistent enough that I can perform even on bad days.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

Becoming a 5 star. After all the work I have put in, it was a very nice reward, but also an inspiration for higher achievements.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

4 star Hunter Moddon or 4 star Damani Maxson, both are on my team.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

Don’t compare yourself to other people. Everybody’s journey will be different. Keep your head down and work through everything.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I love the weather in Florida, and the views and peace of Idaho.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I was a freshman when I realized that this is what I really wanted to do for the next decade.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

JJ Watt, he is commendable both on and off the field.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

Chelsea winning the UEFA Champions League in 2021, it felt like a life of support was complete.
