Cedar Ridge’s Star Freshman Quarterback: Alex Marcantoni

Alex Marcantoni is a 2026 recruit who plays Quarterback at Cedar Ridge High School. Marcantoni is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2026 and is ranked among one of the top Quarterbacks in the class as well. In addition, Marcantoni is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Texas and is listed among one of the top Quarterbacks in the state of Texas.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

Growing up, I was inspired by Brett Favre and Cam Newton.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Before a game my go to songs to get me hyped are Dreams and Nightmares and Tyler Herro.

What is your offseason training like?

I train 1-2 times out of the week with my QB trainer Shaun Rutherford who I’ve been working with for awhile now. I also do weight training 4-5 days a week and summer workouts 4 days a week. 

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory of my career was for sure blowing out our rival school. It was also one of my best passing games of the season. 

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I’ve ever played with has to be my Running Back Noah Devonish. We have a really good Quarterback to Running Back connection, and watching him run the ball is unreal. 

What is your favorite food?

My mom’s rice and chicken 

When did you realize you were talented at football?

When I was around 6 I threw my first football and my parents said that’s when they knew I could be something one day.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

Brett Favre, I would tell him how he’s the reason I chose to be a Quarterback, and  ask him to show me how he puts so much spin on the ball.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

When the Vikings beat the Saints with the Minneapolis Miracle
