Cathedral’s Star Sophomore Quarterback: Jaden Jefferson

Jaden Jefferson is a 3 Star recruit who plays Quarterback at Cathedral High School. Jefferson is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2027 and is ranked as a top 30 Quarterback in the class as well. In addition, Jefferson is listed as a top 70 recruit in the state of California and is listed as the #5 Quarterback in the state of California. He holds offers from schools such as Syracuse, San Diego State and Sacramento State.

Who are some role models in your life?
Some role models in my life are both of my parents and my uncles. They’ve shown me what it means to work hard and stay focused—both on the field and in life. They push me every day to be my best.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
Pregame, it’s all about YoungBoy. He gets me in the right mindset and locked in before I step on the field.

What are the strengths of your game?
My biggest strength is my football IQ. I can read coverages—whether the defense is in zone, man, or disguising looks. Plus, being a dual-threat QB, if the play breaks down, I know how to make something happen on the ground.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory has to be making a name for myself in youth ball. Traveling the country with a top national team and dominating was an experience I’ll never forget.

Who is the best player you’ve ever played with or against?
The best player I’ve played with is Antonio Walton. He’s got serious speed, can stretch the field, and is a game-changer on both sides of the ball.

What advice would you give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Put in the work to get the results you want. Nobody else can want it for you. It’s your job to earn everything and chase your goals every single day.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Definitely Hawaii. The scenery, the water, the vibe—it just seems like a perfect place to relax and enjoy life.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I fell in love with football at 4 years old. My dad coached the Norwalk Ravens, and I started out as the team mascot, running around and doing drills. Once I was old enough to play, I never looked back.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I’d love to meet Patrick Mahomes. He’s an incredible player, and I’d definitely want to break down film with him and learn more about how he sees the game.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite moment as a fan was watching the Chiefs go back-to-back as Super Bowl champions. I’ve always been a Chiefs fan, and seeing them win again was unforgettable.
