Caroline Ducharme is a 5 Star recruit who plays Guard at Noble & Greenough School. Ducharme is ranked as the 37th best player in the Class of 2021, and is listed as a Top 25 Guard in the nation as well. In addition, Caroline is the #1 recruit in the state of Massachusetts. Caroline Ducharme is committed to play at UCONN next fall.

Growing up, were you inspired by any WNBA Players?

I have always loved watching Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird because of how tough and relentless they are on the floor. They are never the most athletic players on the court, but they play smart and compete hard every play.

What high school is your biggest rival?

Tabor Academy

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Dreams and Nightmares by Meek Mill

What is your offseason training like?

In the offseason I go to TB12 physical therapy twice a week for recovery sessions. I lift four to five times a week and do a basketball workout six times a week. It has been great this summer having so many D1 college basketball girls home because of Covid-19. So I have been able to play pickup and workout with them three times a week. It has been great having my siblings and parents around so much to train together.

What is your favorite memory of your high school career?

Basketball has always been such a big thing in my family. So winning the NEPSAC Class A Championship my freshman year was especially special to me because it was the last game I played with my older sister. She ahd been one of my toughest competitors and great teammates/supporters for my whole life. It was really special to end her high school career on a win, and to have our whole family there to be a part of the championship.

What parts of your high school game, do you hope to transition to the college level?

I hope that being versatile and playing multiple positions will translate well to the next level. Being able to spread the floor with perimeter shooting and make reads on the floor to facilitate.

What made UCONN stand out from other schools?

I had a really great conversation with Coach Auriemma throughout the recruiting process and he was always really honest with me and told me things straight up. I love the history and standard of excellence that they have at UCONN and I am really excited to have a chance to add to that.

What do you want to accomplish on and off the court during your time at UCONN?

During my time at UCONN I want to win National Championships. But beyond the court, I believe that as athletes we have a great platform to effect change. I want to use that position to continue to speak out on and fight for racial equality and find ways to enhance the promotion of women’s sports.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

Watching UCONN make history by winning their fourth national championship in a row.
