Bastian Vanden Bosch is a 2026 recruit who plays Defensive End at Brophy College Preparatory High School. In addition, Vanden Bosch is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Arizona and is listed among one of the top Defensive Ends in the state of Arizona. He holds offers from schools such as Oregon, Arizona State, and Nebraska.

Who are some role models in your life?

The biggest role model in my life is my father. I admire his work ethic and how humble he is. He is definitely someone I strive to be like when I’m older.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Pregame I listen to a lot of 21 Savage. He’s got plenty of songs that get me in the right mindset.

What are the strengths of your game?

I think some of my strengths are my hustle, my strength, and my speed.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory of my career so far is my first ever game. I was so nervous I threw up. Then I talked to my dad a little and he calmed me down. I finished the game with 2 touchdowns, 3 sacks, and 4 tackles for loss.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I’ve played against is probably Deuce Postell. He’s a little guy but very shifty. I definitely got broken by him.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

Some advice I would give is to work in silence. It’s easy to get caught up on social media and see all these people posting about how they’re working and training all the time. Which is good, but I think it’s better to do all of that in silence. Put in the work when nobody else is watching.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I would definitely travel to Italy. Seems like a cool place to visit.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

 I fell in love with the game when I was around 5, when I started flag football. I used to bug my dad all the time and ask him when I could get in pads. Finally in 6th grade he let me.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would meet James Harrison. His story of him going undrafted to winning the Super Bowl is amazing. Also, his work ethic is unmatched.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite sports moment was when Diggs caught that 70 yard touchdown in the Divisional Round. I’m not even a Vikings fan, but that was a moment I’ll never forget watching.
