Rhys Woodrow is a 3 Star recruit who plays Interior Offensive Line at Boone High School. Woodrow is ranked among one of the top recruits in the nation and is ranked among one of the top Interior Offensive Lineman in the nation as well. In addition, Woodrow is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Florida and is listed as a top 15 Interior Offensive Lineman in the state of Florida. He is committed to play at Miami.
Who are some role models in your life?
My grandpa is my biggest role model. He’s the only one in my family who played football, and I feel like I’m picking up where he left off.
What artists do you listen to pregame to get hyped up?
Kodak, Joey Bada$$, Lil Wayne, and a mix of others. I like a good blend of energy and lyrics that hit.
What are the strengths of your game?
My biggest strength is my ability to overpower people in the run game. I take pride in dominating at the point of attack.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
Every time I get to lift up my quarterback after a long touchdown—it never gets old. That celebration means we did our job.
Who’s the best player you’ve ever played with or against?
Isaiah Mizell—his speed and hands made him nearly impossible to stop. And Daniel Smith, our running back last year, is hands down the best high school back I’ve ever seen.
What advice would you give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Stay in the weight room. Don’t be afraid to put on or cut weight if it helps your game. And never stop grinding toward your goal—consistency is everything.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Honestly, one of my favorite places is a cabin my family built in Michigan. It’s peaceful and a great place to reset.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I fell in love with football in 8th grade. It was my first year playing tackle, and as the season went on, my love for the game just kept growing.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Mike Alstott. He was an absolute beast on the field, and I’ve always looked up to his style of play.
What’s your favorite sports moment as a fan?
Watching the Tampa Bay Bucs win the Super Bowl.
