Bishop Gorman’s Star Freshman Quarterback: Maika Eugenio

Maika Eugenio is a 2026 recruit who plays Quarterback at Bishop Gorman High School. Eugenio is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2026 and is ranked among one of the top Quarterbacks in the class as well. In addition, Eugenio is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Nevada and is listed among one of the top Quarterbacks in the state of Nevada. He currently holds offers from Florida Atlantic and North Alabama.

Who are some role models in your life?

My parents are my role models. They taught me everything I know. My parents are loving, supportive, open, and very active in my life.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I listen to Yeat to get turnt up!

What are the strengths of your game?

I believe it’s my mental toughness, reads, anticipation, accuracy, arm strength, footwork, and my decision making.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

There are many memories, but recently this March 2023 winning three 7v7 championships in a row including back to back OT7 championships in Arizona and Texas. The other one was SUP7R in California.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

Always have faith, love God, pray and love your family. Be a goal getter, trust Gods plan, persevere and show grit no matter what. Remember student first and athlete second. Respect and love yourself. Just be you!

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I would travel to Hawaii. I miss my home. I am Hawaiian and live my culture but my parents moved us to Las Vegas for more opportunities for my siblings and I. Again, Hawaii always…

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I started playing flag football at 4 years old, but started to love this game around 8 years old.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

It would be Ryan Shazier of the Pittsburgh Steelers. I love the Steelers and Ryan because he represented toughness and passion for the game.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

Watching Kobe Bryant and the Lakers play in the Staples Center and watching the Steelers play in Heinz Stadium.
