Archbishop Stepinac’s Star Cornerback: Samuel Madu
Samuel Madu is a 2024 recruit who plays Cornerback at Archbishop Stepinac High School. Madu is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2024 and is ranked among one of the top Cornerbacks in the class as well. In addition, Madu is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of New York and is listed among one of the top Cornerbacks in the state of New York. He holds offers from schools such as Penn State, Purdue, and Minnesota.
Who are some role models in your life?
Some role models in my life would have to be my parents and the people that have been in the position i’m trying to reach.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
My pregame artists would definitely be Meek Mill and Lil Baby.
What are the strengths of your game?
I give 100% effort, I am aggressive on the field, I can come downfield and make tackles, I’m exceptional in man to man coverage, and l’m most importantly a leader.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory I’d say was transferring to the school i’m at right now (Archbishop Stepinac). It was a life changing experience being able to be given an opportunity to better my life at such a great school.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
I’d say Stepinac recievers are the best of the best, but outside of my team I would say number 8 from DePaul Catholic in NJ. I believe his name is Dez Jones.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
To all the young athletes who truly want to be great, the best advice I can give is to focus on the little things and truly work for what you want. To say this I mean like staying after practice to get more work in or working on little things like your character and the way you address yourself. All those little things matter because being a good athlete isn’t all that matters when it comes to representing a school. You have to be a good person too.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could travel anywhere, it would be to Japan.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I’d say I was about 15. Being that I started playing so late I hadn’t taken the sport as serious as I do right now.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet one sports hero it would be Kobe Bryant. Felt like his mentality was something real. To hear some wise words from him would be great.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment would definitely be going to my first New York Giants game.
