Archbishop Curley’s Star Safety: Amari Gardner
Amari Gardner is a 2024 recruit who plays Safety at Archbishop Curley High School. Gardner is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2024 and is ranked among one of the top Safeties in the class as well. In addition, Gardner is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Maryland and is listed among one of the top Safeties in the state of Maryland. He holds offers from schools such as Army, Yale, and UPenn.
Who are some role models in your life?
Some role models in my life are definitely my mother and my father. They paved the way for me to be successful and I learned a lot from them.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I listen to Baby Tron, Lil Baby, Brent Faiyaz, Chief Keef, Babyface Ray, Future, Peezy, and YB.
What are the strengths of your game?
Some of my strengths are my tackling, agility, and IQ. I have a great feel for what’s going on around me, and I react to different sets very well.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
Playing John Caroll my sophomore year
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best players I’ve played with are, Caron Madison, Isaiah Yates, Jamaun Brown, Jeremiah Lewis, Will Urquia, Kahlil Travers, Malikai Nichols, Stevie Carter. The best player I’ve played against is Keshawn Mister, my boy is a dawg.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
I would say stay patient and trust yourself. Have confidence and ask questions if needed. Don’t ever doubt yourself, put in work and stay consistent.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
Watching the Maryland vs Ohio State game this past season.

Amari didn’t mention what great hands he has, but I am. He’s an awesome wideout and hopefully this year you could possibly see him on both sides of the ball. Most importantly though he’s a great kid with grades to match. Whoever decides to pick him up will have a great person as well.
