Southlake Carroll’s Star Sophomore Wideout: Brody Knowles

Brody Knowles is a 4 Star recruit who plays Wide Receiver at Southlake Carroll High School. Knowles is ranked as the 147th best recruit in the class of 2027 and is ranked as a top 15 Wide Receiver in the class as well. In addition, Knowles is listed as a top 25 recruit in the state of Texas and is listed as the #4 Wide Receiver in the state of Texas. He holds offers from schools such as Oklahoma, TCU and Kansas.

Who are some role models in your life?
My dad and mom are huge role models in my life. They’ve supported me through everything and set an example for how to handle life and work hard.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
My go-to pregame artists are NBA YoungBoy, OT7 Quanney, Bossman Dlow, Lil Double O, and BAK Jay. They get my energy right.

What are the strengths of your game?
As a wide receiver, my biggest strengths are winning jump balls and dominating 1v1 matchups. I always believe I’m coming down with it. I give full effort and pride myself on being a great teammate no matter what.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
Scoring the first touchdown in the 6A state championship game in front of 27,000 fans. That moment was unforgettable.

Who is the best player you’ve ever played with or against?
Riley Wormley, a 4-star USC commit at running back. Playing with him raised my level.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Keep working and be willing to sacrifice. Discipline and doing things differently than everyone else will separate you from the pack.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’d go to the Maldives. I’ve grown up around the ocean and beach—my dad is from the Bahamas—so it feels like home.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I fell in love with football around 10 years old.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Calvin Johnson—he’s my favorite wide receiver of all time. I try to model my game after his, especially since we’re both big-bodied receivers.

What is your favorite sports moment as a fan?
OBJ’s one-handed catch vs. the Cowboys. I remember it like it was yesterday.
