The Next Great Hokie Tight End: Jared Gibble

Jared Gibble is a 3 Star recruit who plays Tight End at Oak Grove High School. Gibble is ranked as the #72 Tight End in the nation and is a Top 65 recruit in the state of North Carolina. In addition, Gibble is also listed as a Top 3 Tight End in the state of North Carolina. Jared Gibble is committed to play at Virginia Tech next fall.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

 Probably my favorite player is Gronk

What high school is your biggest rival?

 I go to a brand new high school so almost every game is treated like a rivalry but North Davidson and Ledford are our biggest.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

 I like to listen to country music before games to keep me relaxed.

What is your offseason training like?

I train everyday sometimes twice a day. Everyday includes some kind of weight training and speed/field work.

What is your favorite memory of your high school career?

Our first time beating North Davidson

What parts of your high school game, do you hope to transition to the college level?

I hope to transition my versatility over to the college level

What made Virginia Tech stand out from other schools?

It’s an opportunity to get a great degree and play football at the highest level

What do you want to accomplish on and off the field during your time at Virginia Tech?

I want to graduate with my degree and win lots of games with my teammates.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

 I’d love to hang out with Gronk for a day

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

 Getting to throw the baseball with my dad on the Atlanta Braves field before the game when I was young.
