The Top Sophomore Safety In Pennsylvania: Matt Sieg

Matt Sieg is a 4 Star recruit who plays Safety at Fort Cherry High School. Sieg is ranked as the 199th best recruit in the class of 2026 and is ranked as a top 20 Safety in the class as well. In addition, Sieg is listed as the #5 recruit in the state of Pennsylvania and is listed as the #1 Safety in the state of Pennsylvania. He holds offers from schools such as Penn State, Pitt and Wisconsin.

Who are some role models in your life?

My dad is definitely my biggest role model. He is always there for me and has helped me with everything from school to athletics for my entire life and I will never be able to repay everything he’s done for me.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I’m always listening to Rod Wave.

What are the strengths of your game?

I think my speed is the biggest strength of my game.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory is winning the WIAL Championship for my school and doing it with all my guys that l’ve played my whole life with.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I have played with is Shane Cornali. He’s a monster on both sides of the ball. The best player l’ve played against is Alex Erby from Steelton-Highspire who is going to Navy.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

I would tell them to just keep working hard and don’t worry about what other athletes are doing. As long as you know you’re doing everything you can to get better, just let everything take care of itself.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I would probably go to the Bahamas.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I’ve been in love with football for as long as I can remember. I’ve spent my whole life on a football field from as soon as l could walk and go to my dad’s practices at wherever he was coaching.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would want to meet Michael Jordan.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite sports moment is watching the Steelers win the Super Bowl. Even though I was little, I still like to go back and watch the highlights on Youtube.
