Valor Christian’s Star Freshman: Reis Russell
Reis Russell is a 2027 recruit who plays Interior Offensive Line at Valor Christian High School. Russell is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2027 and is ranked among one of the top Interior Offensive Linemen in the class as well. In addition, Russell is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Colorado and is listed among one of the top Interior Offensive Linemen in the state of Colorado. He holds offers from schools such as Penn State, Texas A&M and Tennessee.
Who are some role models in your life?
My biggest role model in football is Jason Kelce. I love how he plays and I think he’s a great guy too.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
One of my favorite pregame artists is Zach Bryan. Ilove listening to him and getting my mind right for the game.
What are the strengths of your game?
The biggest strength of my game is how hard I play. I pride myself on never taking any plays off.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory of my career was my first varsity snap. It was the home opener and my first game starting because I was out the first 3 games with a concussion. I was so excited and couldn’t believe I was playing varsity football.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I have ever played against was James Carrington.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Some advice I would give is don’t ever give up. Don’t listen to what anyone else says. You can do whatever you put your mind to.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could travel anywhere I would go to Alaska and go fishing.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was about 4 years old when I fell in love with football. My whole family loves football and it’s been a big part of my family for many generations.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet any sports hero it would be Jason Kelce. He is a real inspiration to me.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment as a fan was the Von Miller strip sack in Super Bowl 50. That was a big play.
