Jesuit’s Star Junior: Justin Thurman

Justin Thurman is a 4 Star recruit who plays Running Back at Jesuit High School. Thurman is ranked as the 284th best recruit in the class of 2025 and is ranked as a top 25 Running Back in the class as well. In addition, Thurman is listed as a top 40 recruit in the state of Florida and is listed as a top 10 Running Back in the state of Florida. He is committed to play at Notre Dame.

Who are some role models in your life?

My parents are the biggest role models in my life because of their guidance and the example they set for me on how to be the best person I can be.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Eminem and Big Sean are my go to’s for pregame music. Detroit guys, I was born in Michigan

What are the strengths of your game?

My speed, quickness, power, and football IQ are my key strengths. I am an overall athlete that can contribute in all 3 phases of the game.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My first varsity touchdown when I was a freshman on my first punt return attempt. Also, a huge team win and my house call 80 yard touchdown against our biggest crosstown rival this year.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I ever played against was Jeremiyah Love from CBC. The best player I’ve played with is Troy Bowles from Jesuit my sophomore year.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

Visit schools and camp when you can, and ask questions about the program. Research, see if the school is the right fit for you, and understand how you see yourself fitting into the program. Look at the whole picture.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I would probably travel to London. My parents lived there for a couple of years before I was born.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

When I was 6, when I started playing flag football.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

If would be LeBron James.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

When Notre Dame had a stellar game against USC this year. I was on the field when everyone rushed the field at the end of the game. It was electric.
