Lake Minneola’s Star Freshman Tackle: Chancellor Barclay

Chancellor Barclay is a 2026 recruit who plays Offensive Tackle at Lake Minneola High School. Barclay is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2026 and is ranked among one of the top Offensive Tackles in the class as well. In addition, Barclay is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Florida and is listed among one of the top Offensive Tackles in the state of Florida. He holds offers from schools such as Florida, Vanderbilt and Liberty.

Who are some role models in your life?

One of the role models in my life is my mom. She has taught me how to make the best out of any situation I’m given. She works hard to provide for my sister and I and I could not have done anything in life without her.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

For pregame artist or playlist, I like to listen to some old r&b. It puts me in a zone where I can focus and think about what’s ahead of me in the game, whether it’s what play we’re starting with, or my techniques and rules as an offensive linemen.

What are the strengths of your game?

One of the biggest strengths of my game is my ability to be great in run and pass blocking.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory of my career so far is winning districts against Forest.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I have played with would definitely have to be my teammate Braylon Knauth. When first going into Lake Minneola he was what I would see as a great leader, helping others push through workouts while he was also pushing himself to be the greatest he can be. Even though he knows that it would be hard for him to be recruited as a wide receiver because of his height, he still works as hard as he can, and I’m just so glad I get to play alongside him for one more season.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

You only get what you deserve. If you are willing to put in the work, you’ll get the results you want to see.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would go to Jamaica. I’ve always wanted to see what culture my dad lived in before he moved to America.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I would say I was 6 or 7 years old when I fell in love with the game.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

If I could meet any sports hero, it would be Cam Newton. He really made me fall in love with football.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite sports moment as a fan, was when the Eagles won the Super Bowl. My dad, my sister and I were all jumping around in the living room out of pure excitement and joy.
