St. Charles North’s Star Long Snapper: Lincoln Epstein

Lincoln Epstein is a 2024 recruit who plays Long Snapper at St. Charles North High School. Epstein is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2024 and is ranked as the 50th best Long Snapper in the class as well. In addition, Epstein is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Illinois and is listed as the #6 Long Snapper in the state of Illinois.

Who are some role models in your life?

Nolan Owen, for not only being a great Long Snapper trainer and honing my craft but also because he overcame adversity with an injury and came back and earned a full ride scholarship to play D1 college football. Chris Babyar, because he taught me a work ethic from a young age. The countless hours of repetitive drill work, working on technique and footwork drills. My parents for always being there and supporting me throughout everything I do.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I listen to Future to get me hyped up on game day.

What are the strengths of your game?

Being from the midwest I have snapped In almost every weather condition (hot, cold, rain, windy, and snow). My strengths are my work ethic and coachability. Also I am technically sound in both Snap & Block and Snap & Release and getting downfield in coverage.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

There are many, but making my first tackle after snapping and releasing downfield in coverage, was pretty cool.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I played with at SCN was Drew Surges. He was a game changer and broke school records for TD’s and was an explosive player on both offense and defense.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

My advice would be to set goals, work hard and never give up on your dreams.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I would like to travel to Ireland, learn more about my family history and culture.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I fell in love with the game at an early age. I started playing youth football when I was 8 years old, in 3rd grade. Since then it’s been my goal to play college football.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would have loved to meet Walter Payton. Not only was he a great football player, he was a caring person who did a lot for his community.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite sports moment was watching my first college football game in South Bend in 7th grade. The stadium atmosphere was really cool and the defense scored the winning touchdown and the fans went crazy. It’s an experience I’ll never forget.
