Maurice Barnes Jr is a 2026 recruit who plays Linebacker at Bishop McDevitt High School. Barnes Jr is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2026 and is ranked among one of the top Linebackers in the class as well. In addition, Barnes Jr is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Pennsylvania and is listed among one of the top Linebackers in the state of Pennsylvania. Who are some role models in your life?
One of the role models in my life is my mom. She motivates me to be great everyday. In terms of the NFL, it would be Micah Parsons. He came from the same area that I’m from and showed that a Harrisburg kid can make it to the NFL.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I listen to NBA YoungBoy and LIl Baby before games.
What are the strengths of your game?
My strengths are my speed and my hands.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory was winning the state championship with my teammates, I’ll never forget that.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I’ve played with is my teammate Rico Scott. He’s committed to Alabama.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Be patient and keep grinding, your time is going to come.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could travel anywhere, I would go to the Bahamas.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was 7 or 8 years old when I fell in love with the game of football.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet one sports hero, it would be LeBron James.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment as a fan, was attending the Steelers vs Titans game with my dad two years ago.
