Richard Wesley is a 2027 recruit who plays Defensive End at Sierra Canyon High School. Wesley is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2027 and is ranked among one of the top Defensive Ends in the class as well. In addition, Wesley is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of California and is listed among one of the top Defensive Ends in the state of California. He currently holds an offer from Cal.
Who are some role models in your life?
One of my role models is J Cole. I look up to him because he is a rapper who is humble and doesn’t let fame get to his head.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I listen to Rio Da Yung Og, RMC Mike and Lil Yachty.
What are the strengths of your game?
The strengths of my game are definitely my speed and strength. I have a long structure that allows me to cover a good distance in my first few steps and keep a good distance between the opposing lineman. Combine a long structure with strength and speed and the game becomes way easier.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory of my career was my first flag football game. It was my first time playing any type of organized football with other kids, and catching the ball and running to score my first touchdown just gave me a sense of joy. I’ve never looked back since.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I’ve played against so far is Big Lex at the Undertheradar 8th grade lineman camp. Competing against him just gives me more motivation to get better and better.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Advice I would give an aspiring D1 athlete is to make sure you’re a good kid inside and outside of school.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could travel anywhere, I would want to go to Jamaica. Jamaica seems like a place where everyone is welcoming to each other and their food is amazing.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I fell in love with the game when I was 12.

If I could meet one sports hero, it would be Aaron Donald.
