Waxahachie’s Next Star Athlete: JayQuan Snell
JayQuan Snell is a 2027 recruit who is an Athlete at Waxahachie High School. Snell is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2027 and is ranked among one of the top Athletes in the class as well. In addition, Snell is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Texas and is listed among one of the top Athletes in the state of Texas. He currently holds offers from Auburn, Missouri and UTSA.
Who are some role models in your life?
Some role models in my life are my dad and my older brother Kenedy Snell. My brother set the pathway for me and inspired me to try and be the best in all aspects of life. He knows me very well and can bring something out of me no one else can.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
An artist I listen to to get prepared for a game is Lil Baby. My sister is also a rapper, she goes by the name of ESB Getta. When I listen to her telling our story and what we went through growing up, it pushes me to go out there and succeed.
What are the strengths of your game?
Some of the strengths of my game are my physicality and athleticism.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory ot my career was when my team and I the NTX Bills won the state championship. I believe I was 12 at the time and it was at the Cowboys stadium, so that was a special moment for me.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player that I have played with is Racine Guillory Jr, although I have played with a lot of good players. He has such an explosive and physical game and I just loved playing with such a great teammate like him. The best player I have played against is Kane Archer. He is such a gifted and talented QB. He can throw the ball, break down defenses and also use his feet to run.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Something I would say to an aspiring D1 athlete is to simply keep working. If you’re good enough, coaches will find you.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would love to go to Hawaii.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was 6 years old when I fell in love with football.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet one sports hero, I would say Jalen Ramsey. He has so much swag on the field and he’s my favorite player on the defensive side of the ball.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment as fan has to be when my brother (Kenedy Snell) scored his first college touchdown at TCU, his first time ever touching the ball. It was so special because he reversed back field and broke a couple people’s ankles.
