Who are some role models in your life?

One role model is my dad. He is the definition of self made and hardworking. Because of this, he is there to help me with whatever is needed and give me opportunities. Without him I would not be where I am today, as he works really hard to be able to get me to camps, training, and anything else I need. Hopefully one day I can work hard and be able to do this for my kids too.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

When I am in the locker room, I have a playlist that I usually put on shuffle and listen to while I put my gear on. It has a lot of different artists on it but the main ones are Drake and Travis Scott. I like the beats in their music and it allows me to focus and visualize the kicks I need to make in the game.

What are the strengths of your game?

I believe the strengths of my game are consistency and athleticism. So far for varsity football I am 7/7 on field goals which I am hoping to keep perfect through my senior year. I also finished last season with a 45 yard punt average which I hope to improve on a bit this season. I am also able to use my athleticism when needed. If there is a bad snap, tackle needed to be made, or a need for an unexpected role on the team, I feel more than capable to fill in and do the job.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory so far would be from our second game of the season last year against University City. We were down 41-40 with under 30 seconds left and I had to make an extra point to tie it up to go to overtime. The extra point ended up getting pushed back 15 yards because of our touchdown celebration so it was now a 25 yard kick. What made this so memorable though was that it was the first kick that really put a lot of pressure on me, as it would decide the outcome of the game. But, I slotted it through right down the middle of the uprights and we ended up winning the game with a touchdown in overtime.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

I have been lucky enough to kick at the same high school as Mateen Bhagani who has really helped me move forward with my skills. Competing with each other last season allowed us to both learn from each other and push each other to be better. I am very fortunate to have had him as a teammate and I know that he will do a great job at Cal Berkeley for the next 4 years.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

I would tell all aspiring D1 athletes, especially kickers, that your opportunity will come in due time. Kickers generally do not get a lot of action on the field, so when it comes you need to be ready to take it and be excited for that moment. Opportunities for great moments in kicking are rare in high school, so I would say take advantage of them when they are present and make the most of all your kicks in your games.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I would want to travel to the Bahamas for sure. Growing up in San Diego, I have always really enjoyed going to the beach, surfing, and just being outgoing. The Bahamas takes it to the next level and the beaches look unreal. It would be super awesome to take a vacation there someday and see all the cool spots for surfing and beach games.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

The summer going into freshman year I really found a desire to go to the field and kick. I started kicking with my dad at the park and I liked how far I was able to kick the ball. After a little bit of practicing, I went to my current coach and mentor Nick Novak and took it to the next level. I am always working with him and I wouldn’t be enjoying all the kicking as much as I am today without all that he has taught me

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would want to meet Cristiano Ronaldo, because he has been my favorite player to watch on the soccer field since I was little. He shows a lot of determination and commitment to the game which I admire. He also is another role model for me as he is a great person off the field. He is known for donating a lot of good money to charity and is known for donating blood to kids in the hospital that need it. It would be awesome to talk to him and get tips from him about how to be great at what you do.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My family and I are huge Dallas Cowboys fans, and we got the opportunity to go to a game at AT@T stadium. Last Christmas we went and saw them destroy the Washington Commanders. It was a super cool experience to see my favorite team and watch my first NFL game in person.
