One Of The Top Punters In South Carolina: Tucker Tevepaugh

Tucker Tevepaugh is a 2024 recruit who plays Punter at Hilton Head Christian Academy. Tevepaugh is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2024 and is ranked as a top 20 Punter in the class as well. In addition, Tevepaugh is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of South Carolina and is listed as the #3 Punter in the state of South Carolina.

Who are some role models in your life?

I would say that my role model is Pat McAfee. He was an NFL punter, which I aspire to be and he created a job for himself that doesn’t seem like a job. He does what he likes every day and that’s a dream of mine.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I listen to Meek Mill the most pregame, to get myself in the right headspace before a game.

What are the strengths of your game?

I think one of the biggest strengths of my game is my IQ.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

I think my favorite moment of my career was winning the Super Bowl in youth football 10u. I have friends from that team still and I will always remeber that.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

I would say the best player I have ever played with is Marques Buford. I played with him my freshman year and before then I had never seen someone so good at what they do. He has proved himself at all levels, being a freshman starter at Nebraska.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

There will be times that you miss when you are going for your goal. The goal is not a small one, so give it everything you have and all the time you have.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

If I could travel the world, the first place I would go would be the west side of the country. I love all of the canyons and natural monuments.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I fell in love with the game my 10u year we won that Super Bowl. I think that was the point it clicked and football was my dream.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would want to meet Shaq because he is a cool person to be around and he seems to be more genuine than other superstars. He is also huge so it would be crazy to see in person.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

I’m a New England Patriots fan, so the entire Falcons vs Patriots Super Bowl game. Especially the catch that Edelman had to save the drive and eventually win the game.
