Dublin Jerome’s Star Kicker: Carter Holden

Carter Holden is a 2024 recruit who plays Kicker at Dublin Jerome High School. Holden is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2024 and is ranked among one of the top Kickers in the class as well. In addition, Holden is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Ohio and is listed among one of the top Kickers in the state of Ohio.

Who are some role models in your life?

Some role models in my life include my parents, grandparents, and my friend Brayden Havenstein, who kicked as a senior when I was a freshman. They have each taught me very important life lessons.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Homecoming by Kanye West is definitely my favorite pregame song.

What are the strengths of your game?

My consistency has been a key strength of mine these past seasons. I can always be relied on to make the kick in any situation.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory of my career is definitely when I had 3 field goals to push us to our first ever win over our school rival, Dublin Coffman.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

I would tell the athlete to never take anything in the game for granted. That includes practice. Enjoy every second of it because time will move faster than you think.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

If I could take any trip, I would go to Hawaii.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I was in 7th grade, and I was given the opportunity to kick for my middle school. I fell in love with it then, so around 7th grade.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would choose to meet Lionel Messi. He has set a different standard of greatness that will be near impossible to top.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite sports moment from a fans perspective was definitely seeing the Columbus Blue Jackets play against the Penguins in the 2014 playoffs. The Blue Jackets rallied to come back from a 2 goal deficit and send it to overtime with about 20 seconds left. They then went on to win the game in overtime.
