The #2 Wide Receiver In Massachusetts: Triston Ward

Triston Ward is a 3 Star recruit who plays Wide Receiver at Deerfield Academy. Ward is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2024 and is ranked among the top 150 Wide Receivers in the class as well. In addition, Ward is listed as a top 10 recruit in the state of Massachusetts and is listed as the #2 Wide Receiver in the state of Massachusetts. He currently holds offers from Duke, Colorado State, and UMass.

Who are some role models in your life?

My biggest role models are my dad and brothers. I see how hard they work at everything they do, and try to be just like them everyday.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I usually listen to a wide array of music before games, but I always listen to Dreams and Nightmares last before every game.

What are the strengths of your game?

My strengths are my speed and YAC ability. I believe I can always turn a 5 yard route into a big gain, and my speed definitely helps with that.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory of my football career would be when I got my first offer from Duke. My brother was a track athlete there and it was crazy for them to be my first offer.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I’ve ever played against is Blake Corum. I played against him when he was at St. Frances and he probably ran for 400 yards against us.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

Advice that I would give would be to never stop working because you never know when it’s going to pay off.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

If I could travel anywhere it would be the Maldives. I have never been anywhere that is as tropical as that and it looks like a crazy cool trip.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I fell in love with football when I was 6. I watched my brother play every Friday night that year, and I wanted to be just like him.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

If I could meet one of my sports heros it would have to be Steph Curry. I’ve been a huge basketball fan since I was in elementary school and he’s always been my favorite player. Curry was even my nickname for a year in middle school because I looked just like him. 

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite sports moment as a fan was the Kick Six by Auburn against Alabama. It was just the craziest play that could have happened after they put more time on the clock and it kept Auburn’s championship hopes alive.
