Delbarton’s Star Linebacker: Dallas Hurley

Dallas Hurley is a 2024 recruit who plays Linebacker at Delbarton High School. Hurley is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2024 and is ranked among one of the top Linebackers in the class as well. In addition, Hurley is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of New Jersey and is listed among one of the top Linebackers in the state of New Jersey. He currently holds an offer from Army.

Who are some role models in your life?

My parents are both people that have made it easy for me to consider them as role models. They have taught me invaluable lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

21 Savage is always on my pregame playlists, and I always like listening to him before I leave the locker room.

What are the strengths of your game?

I think my ability to read and react has always put me at an advantage against the offense. 

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory of my career was walking onto the field at Bergen Catholic and looking into a packed stands my sophomore year.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

Matt Gemma is the best player that I have played with. His play speaks for itself and the things I’ve learned from him will definitely translate for the rest of my football career. 

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

My advice would definitely be to stay patient and in order to be successful you need to be all in. 

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

If I could travel anywhere it would be to Italy.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

My first year playing, when I was 4.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would love to meet Lawrence Taylor because ever since I was younger I would watch his highlights and I used to wear 56 because of him.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

Watching the Giants win the Super Bowl in 2012.
