Loyola’s Star Freshman Athlete: Jackson Nelson

Jackson Nelson is a 2026 recruit who is an Athlete at Loyola High School. Nelson is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2026 and is ranked among one of the top Athletes in the class as well. In addition, Nelson is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of California and is listed among one of the top Athletes in the state of California. He currently holds an offer from Colorado State.

Who are some role models in your life?

Off the field, my mom and my dad are my biggest role models. Someone I look up to on the field would be Jerry Rice.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Before big games I’ll listen to Trippie Redd and Lil Yachty.

What are the strengths of your game?

The biggest strengths of my game are probably my hands and size. I am always able to high point the ball.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory of my high school career was against Bishop Amat, when I caught the go ahead touchdown to give us the lead with one second left before halftime.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best players I’ve played with are my teammates from my 7 on 7 team, Premium Supreme.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

Keep working hard and don’t stop the grind. Always keep your head up when something doesn’t go right.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

If I could travel anywhere, I would go to Maldives.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I was about 4 when I started dedicating my life to football.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would meet Jerry Rice, as he is someone I look up to.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite sports moment was when the Cowboys beat Brady in the playoffs.
