Heritage Christian’s Star Sophomore: Tae Simmons

Tae Simmons is a 2025 recruit who plays Power Forward at Heritage Christian High School. Simmons is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2025 and is ranked among one of the top Power Forwards in the class as well. In addition, Simmons is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of California and is listed among one of the top Power Forwards in the state of California. He currently holds an offer from Weber State.

Who are some role models in your life?

A definite role model in my life has always been my dad, he played professionally out in europe and growing up watching him play was super inspirational and awesome. He made me want to play basketball.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Pregame I listen to Drake, Cochise, and Tory Lanez and I even put on some classical music to really mellow me out.

What are the strengths of your game?

Finishing around the rim through contact as well as getting rebounds.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory of my career would have to be when I traveled to Spain for a team called the Scios Celtics when I had just turned 11. I was three years younger than everyone, but it was awesome to play in another country with really good competition at such a young age. I actually hung with the group and started, and a fun fact is that Zaire Williams was in the age group above me.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I’ve played with would have to have been Kaiden Bailey at the Pangos camp or definitely with Barrington Hargress freshman year.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

Trust in yourself and the work you put in and don’t be afraid to be aggressive, everyone makes mistakes but mistakes are how you grow.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I’m actually very well traveled thanks to my circumstances with my dad playing overseas, so I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to 12 countries being only 15. The one place I’ve always wanted to go is without a doubt Japan, and fortunately my dream comes true during spring break. My parents surprised me and my brother with a trip to Japan over the break.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

I’ve been playing the game since I was only 3 years old but for most of the years it was kinda for fun and because my dad did it. I want to say it wasn’t till about 3-4 years ago where I really realized that people said I have a talent and that basketball was something I really want to pursue as a career.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

If I could meet any sports hero it would have to be either Kobe or Giannis. I would want to meet Kobe because I think just a few minutes with him could truly change my mentality. He’s so famous for the mamba mentality and that’s something I want to learn. He’s one of the greatest of all time with an unmatched legendary work ethic. I would also want to meet Giannis because of his work ethic as well. Everyone knows he’s one of the most unstoppable players in the NBA and yet he stays humble and works on his craft everyday. What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite moment as a fan would have to be recently when I went to the Houston Rockets vs LA Clippers game, when Paul George hit a game winner.
