One Of New Jersey’s Top Freshman Point Guards: Aiden Derkack

Aiden Derkack is a 2026 recruit who plays Point Guard at Colonia High School. Derkack is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2026 and is ranked among one of the top Point Guards in the class as well. In addition, Derkack is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of New Jersey and is listed among one of the top Point Guards in the state of New Jersey. He currently holds an offer from Merrimack.

Who are some role models in your life?

My role model in my life would be my father, he has been with me through every step in my basketball career and every step in my life.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I love listening to Lil Uzi and Lil Baby before games. Just Wanna Rock from Lil Uzi is definitely my hype song.

What are the strengths of your game?

I love to attack the rim by using my lanky body.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory of my basketball career would probably be just playing with my high school team, great players, great teammates, and great people.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best person I have played against would be my brother, Jordan.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?

I work on this every day and know it’s my motto, everything takes time but, you can’t have a million dollar goal with a 1 dollar work ethic.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

One place I would love to travel to would be Australia.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?

When I was 9 I fell in love with the game.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would love to meet Kevin Durant. I love his game, and inspire to play like him.

Watching my sister on ESPN in the WNBA skills contest.
